ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I exemplify how relying abstract normative claims and adopting bureaucratic thinking instead of prioritizing careful analyses of what-is at stake in specific situations led to humanitarian and political disasters. I question the justification of international interventions failures as “unintended consequences” and advocate for a radical assumption of responsibility and careful evaluation of means to end in making decisions about international intervention.
