ABSTRACT

Outside of participating in unit training missions, leading chapel services,

attending and leading various briefings, staff meetings and formations, my early

reserve weekends as an Army Reserve Chaplain included only a few soldiers

entering my office seeking counseling, usually for the communication challenges

they were experiencing in their marital or dating relationships. There was the

occasional religious debate or fun philosophical challenge, but most soldiers

understood the chaplain to be for when you needed prayer or needed to talk

about your marriage.
