ABSTRACT

Organizations are no dierent, developing their own unique DNA. Years of patterns lead to ingrained and deeply entrenched sets of beliefs and behaviors that extend far beyond the individual members of the organization and into practices that are systemic and cultural. Particularly for organizations that have been around for some time, this is a kind of defense, and an understandable one at that. Aer all, the fact that the organization has endured indicates that the culture works, right? Change is risky, because by denition it involves doing something unproven, something that hasn’t yet been shown to work.
