ABSTRACT

Some of the greatest leaders and managers I’ve met really haven’t been all that smooth as verbal communicators. Some of us are gi$ed in that regard and others aren’t. And the good news is that it doesn’t make that much of a di"erence which part of the gene pool we crawled out of, as long as what comes from us is seen as being in alignment with the principles outlined throughout this book. In fact, facility with words can be a trap. If the speech comes too easily, it’s o$en not thought out as well as it should be. And the essence of what you say is in#nitely more important than what you sound like.
