ABSTRACT
Real ambition is not a hope for, it is a will be. It is the objective that growth aspirants identify and pursue relentlessly. It is what spurs a nine-year-old like I was toward a burning desire to make my mark with Henry Higgins-like diction, or spurs men like Dimape, Peter, and Happy, born in a South African township, to build a company in a new, inclusive nation. The real ambition is something everyone in your organization should be able to recite. It drives all of the individual activities in and around the organization. Real ambition has five key qualities:
It has noble intentions. The real ambition must serve an overarching goodness. It must be of benefit to all constituencies, both in and outside of the organization. Your real ambition is the compass that guides all of the activities of this citizenship. The real ambition appeals to the core in all of us that wishes to be a part of creating something special.
