ABSTRACT

In this chapter we dig into the changing nature of education and the progress toward universal availability, a foundational force of the Gen Z Eect. We look ƒrst at the evolution of MOOCs as a way to better align education with the way Gen Z works, lives, and plays. That will take us to the nuance of gaming as a behavioral shift in the way Gen Z views both engagement and education. We’ll explore a variety of ways in which education is changing, discussing approaches taken by organizations such as Google, with its peer-to-peer learning, and Ubisoft, with its Rocksmith video game, which showcases a radical new approach to learning guitar.
