ABSTRACT
The final stretch of my new commute took me through the upscale shopping arcades of Mayfair, the central London neighborhood that for a while was the most expensive property on the British Monopoly board. The area is home to the city’s and increasingly the world’s wealth, originally from its residents and now from the hedge funds and real estate firms that make their home there.
