Every organization needs a genius-someone who is so well versed in her field or so adept at her craft that she can serve as the ultimate go-to person in the company. Having a superstar leader at the helm can
result in a company with innovative products, a keen sense of what the
market needs now and next, or exceptional customer loyalty. For Apple
that genius was Steve Jobs; for Microsoft it was Bill Gates. At GE it was
