ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the twenty curated exercises that are designed for focused practice of essential elements of the IMPACT Paradigm. It details instructions for each exercise. There are also questions for each exercise so we can do periodic check-ins and make self-corrections anytime throughout the day. Each exercise isolates certain skills that when mastered increase our communication competence. In essence, these IMPACT Exercises provide us with a communication workout. Repetition of these twenty selected exercises builds our muscle memory and creates new habits. It ensures that the skills we practice will be lasting. By prioritizing focused practice of these exercises, we are committing to strengthening our ability to achieve maximum impact when we communicate at work. Each curated exercise has a definite purpose. Some require practicing alone, some require practicing with other people.
