ABSTRACT
Children in military families are typically resilient. Military families, however,
as we discussed earlier, also have unique stressors. They experience loss, trauma,
and events that are outside the range of most nonmilitary families. Further, each
branch of the military-Navy, Army, and so on-would result in the family
being exposed to distinct traumatic events. This is true for the children. It, thus,
would not be abnormal to respond with intense fear or helplessness.
