ABSTRACT
Web standards offer a powerful tool for achieving global web accessibility.
However, the success of such standards may be limited while standards fail to
account for disability as a socio-cultural product dependent on any given context.
This chapter seeks to map potential problems with international web access-
ibility standards-with a specific focus on how such standards may implicitly
export certain ways of thinking about disability from minority countries to the
majority world.
