ABSTRACT
Convergence occurs in the Network Society where there are new communication patterns, for example, direct communication between people, leading to the immediate distribution and exchange of information, and borderless and global communication. Globalization is convergence between technology, norms/values (economy), and the labour market. Globalization includes three interacting circles: technology, the labour market, and the values and norms that govern these ideas in a society. Globalization also is governed by virtual worlds: we humans interact in online spheres that include the virtual technical infrastructure, virtual labour market, and values connected to these spheres. ICT has grown out of control for human beings – advanced applications require wisdom. It has grown out of control for human beings – advanced applications require wisdom. There is so much talk about technology development, but nothing about humane development. Humane development must be in parallel with technology development. It involves not only intelligence but also emotional intelligence and social competence – applied wisdom.
