ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 presents whistleblowing research in the United States by government, management, and others. It discusses the federal studies that took place following Watergate. It shows how management scholars used that research. It explores the variables derived from the federal studies that are used in subsequent whistleblowing research. Finally, it explores quasi-governmental research in the health industry related to a dangerous drug combination and the aftermath of the “Snowden Revelations” for the intelligence community, journalism, and academia.
