ABSTRACT
This chapter helps the learners of Japanese language in preparing a farewell speech, farewell gift and thank-you card for their Language partner (LP). It includes a thank-you letter in which the students express appreciation for their help during stay in Japan. The thank-you card should include a photo of the student and their LP, and if they wish, can provide their contact information so that they can continue to stay in touch. The letter should express gratitude in a culturally appropriate way that matches the proficiency level they have attained in their studies. If host family has served as the LP, the photo should be of him/her and their host family. Address the card to the entire family. The students should show their letter to instructor before presenting it to their LP. This should contain a caption for a photo of student and his/her LP, express appreciation, and express the desire to stay in touch.
