ABSTRACT
Sylvia Brown is an assistant professor of English at the University of Alberta. She is editor of Women's Writing in Stuart England: The Mother's Legacies of Dorothy Leigh, ElizabethJoscelin, and Elizabeth Richardson ( 1999) and is working on a study of gender, domesticity, and writing in Puritan culture.
