Unemployment levels in the UK have once again been announced as having reached their highest levels, putting the future of an entire generation at risk, and, according to one analysis of the most recent increase, eight out of ten people who lost their jobs between November 2011 and March 2012 were women, mainly older women (‘The female unemployment crisis’ https://www. guardian.co.uk/society/2012/feb/20/female-unemployment-crisis-women).
