ABSTRACT
This book has elaborated the concept of the sustainability of the air transport system and its components – airlines, airports and Air Traffic Control/Management (ATC/ ATM). Unlikely other studies and documents dealing with sustainability, the book has explicitly included six instead of the commonly considered three dimensions of the system’s performance, such as technical/technological, operational, economic, social, environmental, and institutional. In particular, the inherent dependability of particular performances has been emphasised, implying the need for an integral approach to sustainability of the air transport system.
