Octobr ye 12th § The Soundings still continue from 32 to 35 Fathom though we are 4 or 5 Leagues off Perhaps this will make a fine Fishing-bank in the South Seas. I believe the Bank extended a good way on the North-Side of the Isle, for we had more than a days-Sail from it smooth water, & we have now allways smooth Water, which is in my opinion a good proof, that the Bank still continues:4 & as we saw many Whales & great Numbers of Boobies fishing off the Isle, it is probably a good place for Fishing.
