ABSTRACT

When the first phase of the Bohemian Reformation ended with the execution of Jan Hus in 1415 in Constance, printing did not yet exist. However, it is worth outlini ng some of the politica l and doctrina l aspects of the religious movement which sprang ioto existence at the time, in order to establish firmly the basis of the relationship berween the Czech printed book and the development of the Reforma tion in Bohemia in the sixteeoth century.
