ABSTRACT

The ISO 9000 certification standards (now embodied in just one standard,ISO 9001) have always been written not only to describe a logical set ofcontrols that should be applied in order to address quality, but in such a way that they can be independently verified. This allows somebody to check whether you have actually done all of the things mentioned in the standard. This has led, over time, to the formal independent certification system which we all know.
