ABSTRACT
The chapter has four main objectives: 1. To identify problems which, with hindsight, could have been avoided and to
suggest anticipatory action which should be adopted. 2. To suggest ways of coping with unavoidable or unexpected problems which
may arise. 3. To make positive suggestions which will facilitate research progress. 4. To discuss in depth the role and responsibilities of the research supervisor
and how he or she can be used effectively in executing the research.
