ABSTRACT
On March 2, 1994 at 1759 eastern standard time, Continental Airlines flight 795, a McDonnell-Douglas MD-82, overran the end of runway 13 at LaGuardia Airport, Flushing, New York after the captain rejected the takeoff at high speed. The airplane stopped on a dike with its nose section on a mudflat in Flushing Bay. The airplane was substantially damaged in the accident, but there were no fatalities or serious injuries among the two pilots, four flight attendants, or 110 passengers aboard. The accident occurred at night.
