ABSTRACT

Plagiarism is a real ‘sin’ in academic settings (it might be compared to somebody who works with other people’s money stealing it!). If you do it deliberately, it’s called cheating because you’re representing someone else’s work as your own. It can have very serious results. Universities/colleges/other examining bodies (e.g. professional ones) have clear rules about this and about what happens to those caught out. Check the rules where you’re studying.
