ABSTRACT

Every year from 1511 onwards, Staupitz spent some time in Salzburg, with the probable exception of 1517. He most likely resided at the Order’s terminus facilities on Kaigasse, which the Augustinians of Munich had bought in 1407. This branch office with two buildings and a courtyard was adjacent to the magnificent building complex which Staupitz’s friend, the Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach, had built between 1497 and 1501 for his relatives.1
