Senior leaders can help everyone to flourish by creating a culture of development. This means demonstrating that you value the development of people by investing in it, talking about it and believing that it’s worthwhile to devote time, effort and money into advancing the capabilities of employees. ‘My personal growth’ is one of the eight factors that Best Companies says influences engagement. The organisation and managers have a role in ensuring that individuals feel that their personal growth is being considered, but senior leaders must also behave in a way that shows that development is valued.
