ABSTRACT
After Easter King Philip of France arrived [20 April 1191], and Richard, king of the English, not much later [8 June 1191]. To give you fuller information about the course of their journey, it seems best to go back and begin the narrative with their departure from their countries, follow ing the order of events until we arrive at the abovesaid siege of Acre.
