ABSTRACT

In the chapters on land survival, this book is really referring to extreme survival situations in the desert, jungle and Arctic regions, environments that cover huge amounts of the earth's surface. These are being covered as the 'worst case' scenarios and it should be realised that threatening environments can be found in areas much less extreme than these. The rule that this book is adopting is that knowledge about the very extremes will enable aircrew to cope in any survival situation that they might find themselves in.
