ABSTRACT

A new site is fairly self-explanatory, such projects may involve the choice of location, construction of a new building or refurbishment of an existing building. It may be a relocation project, where an existing building or site is to be vacated, or it could be an expansion project to accommodate new staff or new business. Loss of project history, a knowledge management problem was also identified. Technology requirements in the new location and the physical transfer of equipment would delay completion. The absence of a dedicated and experienced project manager for the relocation exposed a leadership risk. The risk attributes identified by organizational members for new Site project emphasize the role of the three key stakeholder groups. Within this category there is a risk of losing employees through the move, with upside risk of them being poor performers and downside risk of them being valued and experienced high performers.
