ABSTRACT
The U.S. FAA has developed a new computerized ATCO selection test that can be administered to applicants in their home community. This 1-day test replaces the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) written test and 9-week Academy screen that had been used by the FAA throughout most of the 1980s and early 1990s. This chapter will provide an overview of the development of this new test battery and the ATCO selection procedure used in the U.S.
