ABSTRACT
Lakoff (1987), summarizing the contemporary field of cognitive science, which incorporates post-Wittgensteinian ideas from a range of disciplines including psychology, sociology, computer science, linguistics and anthropology, identifies the following characteristics of human reason:
• Thought is embodied, that is our core conceptual systems grow out of experience of a physical and social nature.
