ABSTRACT

How do you take a complete whole and cut it into bits? Finished theses range from 80,000 words to 120,000 words or more. Culling the total down to a 4,000-, 6,000-, 8,000- or 10,000-word article is a challenge. This chapter explains the difficulty of taking apart your fascinating findings and explaining them briefly. If your PhD is a complex and substantive document, then there is no doubt that this is a complicated task!
