ABSTRACT

The following will review the status of corporate strategies in the management of property. The review will paint a dismal picture of corporate strategy in the management of property. It will then go on examine the corporatisation of property management that has taken place over the past 15 years to tackle the static estate and problem of running cost control. From here attention turns to the central units developed to resolve the problems associated with the management of property. Attention is subsequently drawn to the strategic advantages that central units offer. The review is then drawn to a close by examining the strategic response property managers have taken to provide VFM and the 3Es.
