ABSTRACT
Have you ever watched one of the many CSI (Crime Scene Investigator) shows that have been on television recently? These shows tend to feature an almost “magically logical” deconstruction of a crime in order to track and capture the bad guy. It is done neatly in 60 minutes, and often involves what we have called in this book a more “mechanistic” investigation of the crime for most of the show, until sometime near the end of the hour the CSI team puts all the information together in a more holistic way in order to tell the story of the crime that happened. The story is usually a complete description of how the crime happened, what the motive was for the crime, and, most importantly for the CSI show, who is the culprit. The concentration is not only on who, but the why, what, when, where, and how of the crime.
