The Ambiguities of Change: the Case of the Planning Profession in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

South African planners have lived and worked through a prolonged period of accelerated social change, especially in the post -1990 era since the unbanning of the African National Congress (ANC) and the release from prison of Nelson Mandela. This chapter deals with the effects of these changes on individual planners and on the community of planners that comprise the planning profession in South Africa.
