ABSTRACT

This chapter provides the questions which readers can use to build metrics for the financial, customer and organizational aspects of their system. Organizational competencies and skill levels, employee satisfaction, employee career growth, leadership, work processes, technologies, information management, culture. A strong set of these capabilities at all levels of the organization are critical if organization is to achieve real quantum leaps in performance. The biggest trick in developing organizational growth metrics is to narrow them down to a few key metrics that will actually measure and reflect progress by the organization. Management will set targets for the number of projects to be started and the organization will dutifully start at least this number of improvement projects. Measuring the number of improvement projects completed in a few key improvement areas has a much better chance of driving high-impact projects.
