ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on preparation and design of courses in a team and basic considerations when running a course in a team. An ideal team should consist of a variety of characters, so they each bring something unique and different to the team. Task roles can be served by anyone on the team, but should be clearly defined during the course preparation. An ideal team is composed of instructors who are skilled in complementary areas—not necessarily with one specialisation per person. While every course has its main theme, additional course themes are developed amongst the team of instructors. Initially they bring their own ideas for additional themes. The team can never fully estimate the real needs of the participant group and the actual group dynamics on the course and is always forced to update the scenario to reflect participant needs.
