ABSTRACT
Among the group of anatomists and artists who were gathered around Michelangelo in Rome in 1555 and involved in the production of the broadsheet, there were several who also had equally close connections with the prime mover in the enterprise: Cardinal Juan Álvarez. One of the most important of these from the point of view of our study was the young Spanish anatomist Juan Valverde de Amusco.1
