Chapter 13 gave general rules for the use of the data elements. This chapter contains an explanation of the content of each data element, and rules for its use.

The purpose of the Archival Description Sector is to contain information primarily of interest to the general user (including, but not limited to, internal or staff users). The information in this sector should be regarded as being in the public domain.
