ABSTRACT

The austerity and dignity of the north Julia is a middle-aged woman who is travelling on the Hurtigruta with her husband. They live in a major European city. The idea of travelling to the northern parts of Norway came when they read a newspaper article about the Hurtigruta. Somebody they knew had made the trip, Julia says, and they found it so interesting that they wanted to make the same trip. She is not going to see North Cape, she says, but she just loves the nature in the north. It is not so much about Norway, as it is about the nature of the north.
