ABSTRACT

This chapter has the specific, and modest, though unusual, aim of proposing how the IS/IT infrastructure of organizations, and the technology tools it provides, should work strategically to support all the activities concerned with IPs, by integrating the whole range of IPs, and uniting the stakeholders in them. The stakeholders, as indicated in Chapter 5, need all the help they can get in order to know of one another’s existence, understand each other’s business, and appreciate how their various kinds of knowledge and expertise are related and how they can support each other in creating information products that do a good job for everyone. Here we consider the nature of the help they should get from systems and technology.
