ABSTRACT
In this chapter we consider the role and significance of New Zealand in this story. Certain aspects of the history and culture of this country are particularly utopian. For some, New Zealand is itself a utopia. For early colonisers, New Zealand was a land of opportunity and a perfect location in which to begin a new life.
