ABSTRACT

Many of the incidents of sabotage, fraud and other bloody mindedness described in this book could have been defused or prevented altogether through the better management of the people who went on to commit them. Grievances, often entirely justified, have been the root cause of many workplace crimes and misdemeanours. Management that is despotic, bullying, self-serving or corrupt will naturally engender dissent, and will reap what it sows. If people are unhappy, feel persecuted or unfairly treated, they are likely to cause damage or disruption. If you kick a dog for long enough, it will eventually bite you. This is a simple truth.
