ABSTRACT

Finally, we arrive at the experience itself. It may seem strange at first sight that in a book on learning from experience, the experience should be addressed more than halfway through, but I hope that the preceding five chapters have pointed to the crucial and individual contribution each element makes to our sensemaking process. Moreover, because we ourselves change with time, the sense we make of, and the lessons we learn from, an experience at one age might be quite different from those we derive from a very similar experience years later.
