ABSTRACT

For Christian perennists like Le Cour though, it was only one step on the ladder of spiritual evolution away from the imminent level of the Age of Aquarius. This Christian Age, for counter-Christian perennists, was supposed to stress unselfishness and service to others, but because Pisces is a watery sign, the Piscean Age is interpreted as being one of ‘watery confusion and emotionalism’. The young god is symbolised by a horn pouring water that is the Horn of abundance being full of fruits. The action of Ganymede, the Water Carrier in the Aquarian symbol, symbolises the pouring of spiritual knowledge and a peaceful paradigm on the earth at the Age of Aquarius. Astrological discourse became common again during the Renaissance and the concept of the precession of the equinoxes reappeared during the Enlightenment to, but paradoxically, severely compromise astrology. Aquarians, or what could also be called Aquarian perennists, work for the coming of the Age of Aquarius.
