Four play “cycles” with extant texts are normally mentioned: York, Chester, Wakefield, and N-Town. Scholars, however, have demonstrated that N-Town is a collection of plays, not a true cycle,4 and claims for Wakefield as the home of a Creation to Doom “cycle” of plays contained in the Towneley manuscript have
