ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter, the government requirements for monitoring and evaluation of City Challenge have been discussed. In this chapter, a closer examination of local practice is provided. In order to give a clearer picture of how monitoring and evaluation are implemented at the local level, examples of two City Challenge Partnerships are used to illustrate the different approaches. The monitoring systems and local evaluations of Bradford and Hulme Partnerships will be discussed in this chapter.
