ABSTRACT

TO grant me Grace and Favour in your ’Sight, for I am verv much troubled, when I seriously consider the present Transactions; for I am very sensible how hard a Thing it is to do the Will of God, for if Christ was not without a bad Councellor and a Judas to betray him; (how many such had my Soveraign Lord the King) your Highness must not think to go without; Therefore I beseech you, if ever you intend to be Glorious and Eternally Happy, and to do Good for the Church of England and all Protestants in general, have a care that you do not rake false Steps, for if you should, how odious will you make Christian Religion through the World, and your Self a Reproach, if you should do or suffer to be done any hurt to my Soveraign Lord, or let him go, for if you do wo be to England, for you cannot be happy without the King is happy, and as you do by him so God will do by you But methinks it was very unkind of your Royal Highness, to say, That it was not your Intention for the King to return: And now to divest and send him from his Palace, surely you forgot that he was Gods Anointed, the Son of that Pious Prince which was Martyr’d, and Brother to a King whom Gods Providence miraculoussy Restor’d without shedding of Blood; and for his Present Majesty, it is known to all men, how wondersully God has preserv’d him through many Dangers, hesides, he isyour Uncle and Father; and considering the Temptations he daily had, he has been vary Kind to us; for there was Pray en daily in his House and Preaching in the Chappel, which I am sure was con trary to the Roman Catholicks Will; and many more Gracious Acts of Goodness have we enjoy’d, and I hope the Church of England will not forget them, for Ingratitude is as bad as the Sin of Witcheraft, which I hope no Good, Soul will be guilty of; for my Soveraign is so Precious a Prince, that the World doth not afford his like, and all People loves and admires him, and is much troubled now he is gone, for there is not any weary of the Kang, but only of his Religion, for the fear of Poperyhas been the Sole Cause of all our Misfortunes, and how Glo rious a Prince will you be, it you rid us of that Fear, by unchaining my Soveraign Lord the King,; and freeing of him from that Popish Yoke that is destructive both to Him and his Kingdoms; and to Restore him to the Church of England, to which he was first Baptiz’d a Member, and in which he had hisfirft Education, and this is the Way to make the Church of, England Happy, and I don’t doubt, out with Gods Blessing, you may be Instrumental to Unite her Members to Her and make Her a Glorious Church, and You will be Eternally Re warded, and where ever you go you shall Prosper, and vour Souldiers shall go away with Honour and Glory: which the Lord Grant, Amen. Amen. So I Rest
