ABSTRACT
I Can assure Your Lordships that I am very much troubled for Sir Thomas Cook, that he should Fall under the displeasure of the House for his Fidelity; which was never known that any did before : For there’s no Man takes a Servant but he binds him to keep his secrets, which if he performs, he’s counted an honest faithful Servant; but if he performs it not, he’s counted treacherous and base. But be like that which is a Venue in others is become a crime in Sir Thomas Cook, (for though he was a Member of that Company, and of a high Rank, and so could not give any thing but what was partly his own) yet being Intrusted, he became a Servant, and did not do any thing but what they approved on,and made them sensible how he laid it out, and to whom; and they were so well pleated, that they returned, him thanks. But it’s not necessary that all should know how the great Wheels are moved. For the Most High God who is the Fountain of Wisdom, discovers his secrets but to few; for every Man is not capable to understand His Wisdom in governing the World. His Power that brings the greatest Inventions of Men to nothing in a Moment ! Therefore it’s highly necessary that Your Lordships should Implore His Direction in all your Actions. And in so doing You will be happy not only in this World, but in that which is to come.
