ABSTRACT

I Can assure Your Honours that not any thing rejoyc’d me more, than to hear that you ordered a BILL to be brought in, to take off the Priviledges of the Hourse, the very thoughts did me good; and I made it my business to declare the good News, all the way I went home, but they could hardly believe it, but said, If they did so there would be a rare Parliament indeed, for then they would go the right way to mend the World; but sume replied, I’ll warrant it will be flung out, and they will never let it pass: But I hope you will all unite together, that it may pass, for there is not any thing more for your ture honour, than to take off the scandal; for there is a report abroad, how true it is, I know not, that some endeavours to be Parliament Men, because they would be under a Protection, therefore how dishonourable is it for Your Honours that scorns any such thing, And if there be any amongst you that lies under such Circumstances, let them have time allowed them, that they may pay their Debts, and in time your House will become glorious, and you your selves will obtain Favour before God an dMan, and will be counted the best of Parliaments.
