ABSTRACT

MY Lord, I give your Lordship Thanks for conferring such an Honour upon me; but they are wonderful Happy that truly deserves it: But since that, I have Read the KING’S Speach, which hath wound- ed My heart to think what a Deplorable Condition we are in, and I could never believe that England could have been fo Treacherous as to betray their PRINCE, such a piece of Treachery hath never been hatch’d since the Creation of the World, it is as Bad as Judas that betray’d his Matter, or Peter that deny’d him; to send over for an Innocent PRINCE, that was neither Ambitious nor Covetous, but was Contented in His own State, and had the love of His own Peo- ple, and highly disoblig’d them in coming from them: But He forsook all, hoping that He should Glorify GOD, in being Instrumental to prevent Popery, and help a distressed Kingdom; and GOD out of His Infinite Mercy brought Him in Peace, and all the Kingdom, rejoyc’d at His Coming: And His Majesty being a Stranger, He left all things to their Government, and He hath not done any thing Amiss, but only took that Liberty that every Man hath power to do: And in the Nature of the Lord, what makes the Kingdom so Spightful, when He is the only Prince for Christ, that stands against Popery; arid whoever is for the Pretender, is for Antychrist, the Pope, and the Divel; and the Divel hath a desire to bring the Kingdom to Destruction, which I would prevent; For the Pretender can’t make them Heirs of Heaven, nor Save their Souls; and if they Fought for Christ it would be Bravely done, then there would be hopes of some Reward, but they can have no hopes of the Pretender but Destruction; besides what shame it is for Christians and Churchmen to Fight against their Saviour that dy‘d to Save them, Surely if they don’t Repent they will become as black as the Divel: And can your Lordship blame me for being in raging Passion, to think that any One should destroy a Kingdom and their Selves out of Spight; but GOD will Protect His Kingdom, and their Destruction shall fall upon their own Heads, and the LORD will Protect the KING and all that is Sincere for Him; but He will know how to Punish the Treacherous, and I hope in GOD, through the Merits of CHRIST that He will Overturn them all, for it is the Pope and the Divel that hath Corrupted them; and it hath Wounded my Heart to fee they should be so Treacherous to God and there own Souls, to be Corrupted; when GOD hath shewn so much Favour and Mercy towards them.
